You Are Amazing

I’m truly enjoying the November Soul Reset.

Day Three is talking about gratitude, but not just the proverbial list. It asked me to thank myself.

To say ‘thank you’ to me for being me.

Consider the last time you felt thankful for yourself. Really genuinely. Not because someone told you to. But because it just dawned on you. It just dawned on you that you are pretty amazing. ~SC Lourie

This is rather profound. When I think back of all the things I’ve been through, I tend to thank God, and that someone who stood by me during the storm. I cannot recall if I’ve ever said, “Thank you Barb.”

I encourage you to take a quiet moment with you. Sit with a warm cuppa, and thank you for being there for you. When you think of who you love most in this world let it be you. You are pretty amazing.

  1. I have been living the last few months with various versions of these affirmations. I realized that until I truly love myself, it is impossible to completely love anyone else. I have heard this many times in many different ways, but I actually ‘heard’ it recently in a way that resounded deeply and permanently. I have been reading the following quote daily to help me remain true to and learn to love myself.

“If we are unfaithful to our true self, we will extract a price from others. We will make promises we cannot keep, build houses from flimsy stuff, conjure dreams that devolve to nightmares, and other people will suffer-if we are unfaithful to the true self.

      1. It is easy to overlook ourselves. With me doing a grattitude journal and sharing it on my blog for what I’m grateful for, it’s not really often I have looked at myself. The only time, off the top I remember, when I said I was grateful donating, or giving stuff for people. I could be grateful for growing, being more patient, for confidence, as well as just being me. 🙂
