“Do you want a new Christmas stocking?”, she asked. I hadn’t thought about it till that moment.
I haven’t had a new Christmas stocking since the divorce. The one I brought with me is laying in a box of unused Christmas items. These items that at one time, we enjoyed having, but they no longer resonate. That was my stocking.
Letting go of what you once were makes room for the new.
My new Christmas stocking is completely different than the other one. This is how my daughter sees me today. She knew before I did that it was time.
I like the quote and your new stocking!

This very good letting go of the past, what once had meaning no longer has a place in the home. Starting afresh means letting go of lots of things. I believe in burning things so I cannot be tempted to put it back again just to sit there. Fill the gap or space with something new even if it is just energy.

Yes lovely, I didn’t use the stocking I brought with me and I don’t believe in keeping things that are no longer useful. Might have to throw it in the fire-pit! Thank you Nanette. ❤

I like this symbolism of renewal and I can see it useful for other starts or new commitments
