Live Like That

I’m going through my Blog posts one by one.

I’ve been wanting to take time to do this for a while, and then I read a post over at Renards World, and he recommended it. His post entitled, 5 Reasons to Explore Your Archives is excellent. He suggested an app to assist, but I prefer to do it by hand.

The main reason I wanted to do this is because I knew there were a lot of missing photos. It’s not pretty to look at a post with a photo missing. It leaves a big gap in the post, and an ‘X’, similar to a broken link. The irony is, I did this to the posts myself without realizing it. When you clean up your media, every photo deleted is also removed from the post, but it leaves it’s an ‘X’ where the photo once was.

This morning, I came across this post from January 2016. The title of the post reminded me of a song entitled, Live Like That. I’ve noticed some interesting things reading each post, and haven’t deleted hardly any.

I’m not rewriting them either.

Those early posts from 2014 through 2016, are a part of who I am today. There is one common theme in every post I’ve read, and it’s God. Re-reading them confirmed how I choose to live this life.

I want to continue to live like that.

    1. Yea, I had no idea at the time. I didn’t put them back either, but I’m going through and taking out the broken link from the deleted photo. I doubt I’ll be deleting anymore photos from the media file. I just now made it to 2017. 🙂

  1. I love that song! I have gone through most to fix the broken links etc… It is quite an undertaking! I have fixed or edited posts, but will not delete even if I think they aren’t my best work. I have such a bad memory that I wish I had started doing this 30 years ago so I had documentation of what I was feeling week after week. It’s our history! xo

    1. It is quite the undertaking. Indeed!

The only deletions are the ones that felt repetitious. How many posts do you need defining happiness? Lol I’m smack in the middle of my breast cancer journey right now, and that’s a tough read. It is our history. xx

      1. When I wrote about my son’s leukemia, I was so emotional and 6 years had passed. I realized I hadn’t gone back there and I was reliving it. It was such a release of a lot of emotion I was holding in. Hugs …

  2. We should definitely not delete our earlier posts (IMHO) – it’s a record of who we are and where we’ve come from. It’s the best history we could ever ask for and with photos! (though it never occurred to me that some might be missing. Hmmmm….) Not only that, as bloggers, don’t we enjoy visiting a friend and seeing what they were up to a few years ago? Getting to know one another better? 😀

    1. No we shouldn’t. Even if I ever stopped Blogging, I’d leave this site sitting. You never know who might find it and need to hear those words. The only ones I’ve deleted are the ones that sound repetitious. 🙂

  3. Oh no I did the same thing and didnt realize that when you delete from your media it deletes from the post. I had to go through them all and put the photos back. Luckily I still had most of them on my computer. We live and learn I guess. I find a lot of comfort from reading through previous posts that Ive written.

    1. It’s how we learn. You are a better woman than me. I didn’t replace hardly any of the photos. 🙂

Reading it is similar to reliving it. I’m on March 2016 right now, and that’s when I found out about the Breast Cancer. Not sure I want to read it, but will. Thank you for sharing!

  4. Isn’t this funny – I was just in the middle of Sunday cleaning and I thought – I haven’t seen a post from – and I couldn’t remember the name of your blog, I get email notices when you post – and then I thought I hope she is well. After I finished cleaning up, I decided to take a break and I checked my email for new blog post notices and there you were! Happy to see you and glad that you are well.

    1. Thank you Grace for thinking of me. I’m happy to see you too! I’m not posting as often nowadays.

Just slowing the pace of the outgoing, so I can enjoy the actual incoming. All is lovely darling, and I hope the same for you!
