Feel The Music

I heard this song last Sunday, and began composing a post after publishing To Be Seen. Unfortunately, I’ve been messing with it every day this week up until the final moment of it’s scheduled publish.

I shared this song with my daughter and told her it’s up next for Feel the Music. It didn’t take her but a moment of listening it to recognize the voice singing is Pink. My favorite part of the song is how she lays down her sword to dive into the pain. I don’t do that nearly often enough, but look forward to the day my sword can retire.

My daughter is my biggest fan, and I’m hers. She is my first like on a post and knows beforehand when one is going to be published. This one was scheduled for 10:00 am, but I haven’t heard from her this morning, so I’ll wait. We always show up for one another, but the timing of our lives doesn’t always align. The timing is not as important as the doing.

If she were here she’d say, ‘Stop rewriting the post!”, but maybe that’s okay. If nothing else she sees that you can rewrite your story down to the very last minute. I do know at some point to stop typing and kick it into cyberspace.

That’s all I know so far.

  1. A Wonderful post. And Pink.. I just love her. I saw her perform in person years ago when she made her very first album. She was just a kid but her music was so raw and heartfelt. She was extremely talented and then it hit me when she sang Janis Joplin. She reminded me of a young, modern version of Janice. That voice! The emotion. I saw Janice perform in 1968 when I was in college. (She came to my school). The freedom and love that oozed from her when she was in the zone was like nothing I had ever seen. Pink is like that. And watching her mature and become a mother all while perfecting her art has been a joy. She is truly an old soul. A perfect song to describe your blog! Thanks for sharing!

      1. OMG the video was incredible. The imagery was brilliant. As a young rebel myself in the 1960’s, it made me cry. Her art director was amazing too… surrealism infused in with mythology, politics, and the angst of growing up and feeling like an outcast because she was an out of the box creative soul…misunderstood and different from the norm. She nailed it. Thank you for sharing this.

  2. You sound just like my daughter and I, I think many of us in this generation have really close relationships with our daughters, Partly due to single parenting I guess. Loved the song. Im way behind on reading as life has been happening but will catch up on the previous posts soon.

    1. That’s awesome. Yeah, when she’s home, I ask her to read it sometimes before it’s posted. She picks up the typos better than me. I’m glad your husband supports your writing. I hope for a partner like that one day. ❤
