What Am I

I am a private person. A private person with a passion for helping others. That doesn’t make much sense, but today God yanked me out of my box. I sat here taking the simplest of steps and watching as God does what only He can do.

blogI am a child of the one true King. He leads and guides my steps as long as I let Him. It’s easy to step in the way and try to run the show myself, but that normally doesn’t end well! Today, He grabbed me and started running. It was all I could do to keep up and it was mind blowing!

Two years ago I went through a process of shedding the old me and welcoming the new. Sorting through my past and keeping only what was beneficial. Afterwards, I was offered the opportunity to become a Coach of Letting Go. That was two years ago and we’re just now getting started.

The process took time and getting certified did too. A year ago I created this Blog spot and named it Letitgocoach. Finding the name started by using the words Let It Go, but none of those were available so I mashed it all together with Coach and it took. I had become a Letitgocoach by name.blog1

Then came the Facebook page. A year ago again, I created a community for people to be encouraged. It has grown over time and is just starting to really get noticed. Someone from that page contacted me. He asked me what prompted me to start it, so I told him, ‘God did. I’m an encourager and I’m a Coach.’ He had no clue by looking at the page that I am a Coach.

I went into the settings of the page and pulled the three words together that said, ‘Let It Go’. and added ‘Coach’. I changed the category from ‘Community’ to ‘Coach’. When I clicked ‘save changes’, it reloaded and my page transformed into saying ‘Letitgocoach‘, and that I am a ‘Coach’.

It changed right before my eyes. There are other Coaches out there that do similar work as me, but only one Letitgocoach. When we step into God’s will, He will show us what we need to become everything He has planned. I guess He saved that one word for me.

What I Crave

Yesterday was not a very pretty day Inbarbsworld. I allowed something to bother me to the point of sadness. That doesn’t happen very often and it’s not a good feeling. My daughter drove to the store and bought a cake. That helped.

blogThis morning I received an email from a Blog I follow. This guy has wisdom and I enjoy learning from him. He always pulls me up to the 30,000 foot view and helps me see the big picture. His name is Leo Babuata from Zen Habits.

He is studying Buddhas Four Noble Truths in more depth and he mentions ‘crave.’ It made me ponder what I crave besides cake with buttercream icing on an off day. This part of the article drew me back to where I needed to be.

“Just be in the moment you’re in, and see what’s actually in front of you. Not what you read into the moment, but what’s really there, in terms of light and sound and physical molecules. See if you can accept all of that exactly as it is, without craving something else, without avoiding what’s there. Just accept.”

blogOnce my day was done yesterday, I felt drained and alone. Today, I will do a better job at sitting in the present moment and seeing what is there. Sometimes I try to read more into the moment than is really there. That is not healthy for me today.

If you have read any of my Blogs, you know, I am a woman filled with love. To cover people with love and help them feel special brings me joy. When I do this throughout the day, my cup can start to empty. Give from the saucer not the cup.

When you give love, make sure you are receiving it in return. It’s okay to give some and not receive, but don’t give your all. If you do, you will go to sleep like I did, feeling empty, alone and craving love.

Unicorns and Rainbows

Bailey and I have the same sense of humor. Her’s is more colorful than mine, but we laugh at the same things. Sometime we get to laughing so hard at one another we cry. We say our life is made up of Unicorns and Rainbows.

blogOur life is so beautiful and we are addicted to pretty. It all started with a thought and that is what our life became. My previous Blogs have mentioned what we took with us when we left life as we knew it. If it was pretty and brought us joy, it made the list. We set up a home of pretty.

We find joy in God and this new life He has given us. The journey began a couple of years ago, and just gets better. I do not clean windows. Never have found it useful because living in the country there is a lot of dirt. Bailey says I need a Unicorn to come by and lick them clean. That works.

Who doesn’t love rainbows? After every storm, I see a lot of pictures posted on Facebook of them. They are beautiful and Bailey and I are mesmerized by them. Every time we see one, we squeal and get excited like it’s the first time ever. It may be silly girl stuff, but that’s our life.

I don’t think it’s easy for a man to step into my world. They want to feel needed and I don’t really need anything. My ex husband grew resentful because I always see the beauty. Even on our darkest days there was a little sparkle somewhere that caught my eye.  Things that money can’t buy is what this girl needs. A look from across the room, a hug or touch and especially a really good kiss. The small touches are what adds beauty to this already beautiful life.

Trust Your Journey

I have been accused of being the Taylor Swift of the Blog world. We listen to her songs and try to guess what guy it’s about. Does it matter who? It matters that she learned enough to write a song and she wants to sing her way through.

blogI have learned so much on this journey. That is why I Blog. To share what I learn so it can encourage you on yours. I have noticed recently that someone will visit this site, read one of my Blogs and then read several. There will be the number one beside various Blogs with similar topic. This makes all writing worth while.

If I can encourage one person a day, then my mission is complete. Seeing the views increase over time encourages me to continue to share. I saw a quote last week that said, “A writer sits in front of the keyboard and bleeds.” That is very accurate. Just sit down and let it pour from the heart through the fingertips.

Have you ever had someone purposefully hurt you? This always brings me to John 10:10, “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance.” Just like God works through people for good, so does Satan for evil. These lessons come up quick now.

blog1God has my back. He knows the journey because He planned it. As long as I’m following His lead, it’s all good. It’s when I get off the path and start being me that things go wrong. I can hurt people by trying to protect them. Does God need help protecting the people I love? I don’t think so.

Using a GPS is always fun. If you miss the street, it will start rerouting to get you back in the direction you should be going. Wouldn’t it be nice if God gave us one of those for our journey? Whenever we got off the path it would start dinging and the little arrow would pop up in a u turn position.

Allowing ourselves to trust a higher power, the people placed in our path, and ourselves. We don’t have to understand, just trust and keep stepping. Don’t get stuck in the circumstance. God can change that in a heartbeat. By letting go of controlling our destiny, we will see a greater plan unfold.

Drunk On Life

I woke up this morning to a pounding headache. This has been happening more than usual, so I sat down to ponder. Eying my Yoga mat in the corner, I rolled it out and got into child’s pose. That is how I feel this morning, like a child.

There was a day when I woke up feeling worse than this every morning. On November 10th, I get to celebrate 17 years sober. When I wake up like this, it makes me grateful that it’s not a self induced feeling. This too shall pass.

blogI went in search of something pretty and found this on one of my favorite Facebook pages, Rantings of a Beautiful Mind. Even the name of the page is pretty and I always find something there. I thought about taking a Facebook fast, but enjoy encouraging people there. Maybe God is trying to remind me this morning, it’s not all about me.

As I sit here and look at my hard wood floors, I see dog hair and grass. This is hard on me because I enjoy clean floors. I have learned to handle dirt and clutter at times, but I just swept yesterday. The dog has been home less than a day and they are covered again. I saw it when I rolled out my Yoga mat. My question was, ‘Is it going to cling to the mat?’

What else is clinging to me from life? It makes me angry when my life is not pretty. I have allowed it to become unbalanced and off center. God is my center and everything about Him is good. What in my life is not good? I won’t burden you with the list. God is working in my life and He has out the broom. I have a broom and I’m not afraid to use it.

Know Your Worth by Bailey

This was written by my 15 year old daughter yesterday. She didn’t realize I was working on a Blog about worth to publish today. Our titles are even very similar and so are our souls. Love this girl and here are her views on worth.

Know Your Worth

In the world we live in today we are constantly being told that we are not “worthy” or we are not good enough.

It may be because you’re not popular at school or work.
Maybe it’s because you dress differently than the people you’re around.
Or maybe it’s because you are sheltered from things most people know or use.

Whatever the reason may be…. It’s not the truth.
No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, no matter what… There is no one in this world that can tell you what you are worth.

Only God knows your true worth and you are worth even more than you could imagine.

Proverbs 3:15 says,
She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”

You are worth more than rubies in God’s eyes.
The Maker of the universe created you beautifully, uniquely, and wonderfully.

Think about this…
There are roughly 7,322,077,700 people on this world (and counting) and even with of all these people no two human beings have the same finger prints.

Beautifully, uniquely, and wonderfully made.

We are not enough on our own. No person is “greater” than another.
But when we accept Jesus into our hearts… He makes us enough. He is more than enough and He will supply all of our needs if we just ask.

We are brothers and sisters in Christ all made in God’s image. And when Christ was hanging on that cross and He died for all of our sins …He knew your worth and my worth. He saved us instead of saving Himself. You’re worth it.

Just Fall Apart

My life has come so far in a rather short amount of time. Being in the middle of it, makes it difficult to see. My daughter told me, “I don’t think you realize how far you’ve come.” I was having a pity party, but it didn’t last long.

goodBeing a coach is not about giving advice. For me, it’s about listening to someone talk, until they find their own answers. We all know what to do. Being an adult should give you the knowledge of what’s right and wrong. Knowing and doing are two different things. Knowing comes easy but doing is when it gets tough.

Listening to someone talk, and then repeating things they say to you is all it takes. We have the answers, they just get buried underneath the circumstances. Saying them out loud, instead of letting them roll around inside us is healthy. Mama always said, “There’s more room out than there is in”, and that holds true.

When life is falling apart around you, let it fall. We try so hard to hold everything together, but I have found that is only a temporary fix. Pull yourself together and do the next right thing. Start sorting through what is wrong in your life and get to what’s right. What is right for you will be good for others. Go through the debris and find the beauty.
