It was Thursday afternoon and she had just finished cutting my hair. It had gotten long, so a cut was overdue. She unfastened the cape from around my neck and I felt a wave crash over me. I couldn’t see clearly, but soon I would.
I sat in the Salon chair until I regained my sight, and stood up to leave. Making my way down the sidewalk to my truck, I got in and started my way home. I decided to stop in one of my favorite shops to buy a candle.
I had checked my checking account balance before my haircut, just to confirm my deposits went through. When the cashier swiped my card, it came up declined. He tried it three times, but it continued to decline. Mistakes happen with technology, so I left the shop and pulled up my account on my phone. I had seen money a few hours ago.
My account revealed 30 or 40 transactions that were not mine. Someone had hacked into my checking account and drained it within four hours! Calling my bank immediately, the card was canceled and fraud complaints were filed. I now knew why I felt faint at the hair salon. My spirit was telling me something bad was happening.
It was bad alright! It was almost the weekend, my checking account showed $1.63 and more was pending. I have been receiving email notifications all weekend reminding me of my negative balance. I just delete them because I know what God promises about things like this. He is my vindicator and He will restore what has been taken from me to better than it was before. So, I wait. I have remained calm and am looking at it as a test.
God will allow things to happen to test our faith.
I could have had a fit and demanded my money back, but that would be me doing, and God wouldn’t have any room to move. I know God is going to show me something really good through this, so I’ll wait. The money should be back Monday, or Tuesday at the latest. Now if it drags on, I will have to inquire about the delay, but to trust God, and keep calm is the plan for now.
