November Soul Reset

One of my favorite writers is SC Lourie.

When she writes, the words pour from her very soul. I received an email from her and wish to share it because November is the time for a soul reset.

November post

It begins November 1st, but no stress darling.

I’ve walked many a journey with Sam, and she moves gently. Would love to have you join me on this journey. Here is the link. Much love, Barb. xx

Dare to Believe

Is there a dream in your heart?

They say a dream will never leave you, unlike an ‘idea’ we soon forget. You will have ideas toward your dream. Stepping stones. Jot them down.

That dream that God placed in my heart…It’s still there. When I need encouragement toward my dream, I pull it up in my mind and see it instantly and clearly, although God showed it to me years ago.

It’s always the exact same, like watching a rerun.

I am my own worst enemy for my dream. I could quit it at any given time.

Go Back to the Beginning

“If you’re not willing to begin at the beginning, you’ll never end up at the ending.”~Christine Caine

The end of August, I stepped off the beaten path and changed the name of this Blog, but a week ago, I changed it back. I didn’t think up the name Letitgocoach. It was the only name available on WordPress with the words, ‘let it go’. God knows what He’s doing, even when we don’t.

Someone in my life at the time laughed at that name. He thought it was absurd. Let them laugh.

They may look at you like you’re a nut, but to an Oak tree, you’re everything.

Hold Onto the Dream

Now that you are daring to dream, there is something else you need to encompass.

BELIEVE.

Sounds simple right? It is, but you are going to go through tests. Pass those tests. Just get through them to the very best of your ability. Every test will make you stronger, better and quicker for the next one.

Dreamers can live in a lonely world.

Listen to motivational speakers. Read uplifting books, and Blogs. Look at people who have already achieved a similar dream, and learn from them.

Keep people in your life who love you, motivate you, encourage you, inspire you, enhance you, and make you happy.

I continually let people walk out of my life.

Let Go of the Plan

I would venture to guess no football team won the Super Bowl their first year of playing. It takes years of dedication. The same with Olympic Gold Medalists. They have that dream at a young age.

How long have you had your dream?

Maybe it’s not happening as quickly as you planned, but continue laying your hand to it. Use your gift, let go of those pesky expectations, and believe.

Success is when our preparation, and God’s timing meet on the journey.

Over the years, God has given me success. At some point in the journey I’d always ask, “What is keeping me from everything you have for me?”

Each time I felt like it was my impatience.

God is the light and we are the shadow.

Life is a journey. The destination is the dream.

Dare to Believe.

Timing and Expectations

My daughter has left to go visit her Father, so let the weekend begin! Let’s see how long it takes her to realize, she left her favorite CD’s in the CD player at home. Thank you Darling!

As she drove away, I turned on the stereo to listen to this song I’ve been bingeing on for a month. You can hear it on Feel the Music. This song soothes me even though it makes the house vibrate. Gotta love a good stereo, and sub woofer.

This weekend I am taking a social media fast. Social Media and I have had a long loved, and unloved relationship. It has been good for me, and not so good. Spending the weekends, doing whatever I wanna, the timing feels right to take this break. Will let you know next week what it taught me.

Life has a lot to do with timing, and expectations. They are our teachers. I have high expectations for myself, but realize everyone’s expectations vary. We can be our own worst enemy, so my weekends are spent being extra kind to myself.

Something social media has given me are Memes. Friends tease me about my life being one, big Meme. I love them, and will eventually make a Meme compiled with all my favorite quotes, but I almost allowed a complete stranger turn me against them altogether. This happened a year ago.

Searching for Memes to post on Letitgocoach Facebook page, I was becoming burned out over seeing the same ones. There had to be better, and more, is what I felt in my heart. I found an online software that was free, and user-friendly, and began making my own, like the one above.

My heart was right, but I had no clue what I was doing. All I knew was, they should be pretty, and say something that you don’t see everyday. Looking for Memes to share, there were times the saying was almost what I wanted, but not quite. Or, I would find the perfect one, and it would have a typo in it.

This online software was not the best, or the most popular to use, but it was simple. It had limited choices for font, and pics. It didn’t stop me though. Between my daughter’s photography, and Google, I could find pics. The software provided freedom to share whatever I felt led to share, but they didn’t look like ordinary Memes. Here’s one of the first.

One of my first Memes.

One of my favorite meditative readings is a book by Melodie Beattie entitled, “Journey to the Heart: Daily meditations on the Path to Freedom.” Googling quotes from the book, pulled up very few Memes, but that is what I wanted to share. It wasn’t going to change the world, but it could make a difference. Then, in walked the stranger with my lesson.

My Facebook page was growing, and this guy that owns a couple of pages decided he would help me out. He sent a message, and here it is copied and pasted in it’s original format. His personal info has been omitted for anonymity. “If I may suggest, your messages are great, just need to work little on your images. Use picmonkey for editing images Pixabay for images and pintrest for free fonts and quotes.”

I thanked him for his advice, and did more research. Was his comment discouraging, or encouraging? I saw it as both.

Having done research beforehand, I knew of his suggestions, and they were not what I wanted. The one I was using was simple, and had everything right there, it just needed to offer more. Recently, I went back to his pages to see if his style had changed, and it had. The Memes were all black and white.

From SC Lourie’s journal, “How the Light Gets Out.”

One year later, and full circle. Looking through SC Lourie’s journal, and wanting to share. I pulled up the Meme software to see if they had made any changes, or if it still existed. There it was with many new enhancements. It just took time. They know they have a good thing going, but they also know it can always be better. The one above is for my new Blog.

It’s not about being perfect, or pleasing other people. It’s about what makes YOU happy. Learning to take constructive criticism is a work in progress, but it makes me want to do better, and be the best I can be. Making memes is fun, and it’s one of the best, and free ways to advertise who you are.

Just for grins, I Googled Letitgocoach, clicked on images, and there they are! A lot of what has been posted here, or used on Letitgocoach Facebook is displayed on Google. Even some of the early ones! (slight cringe) Well, here ya go Google. Latch onto one of my faves! Much love lovelies!

The Ignore Button

You can only ignore it for so long. That dream God puts in your heart. We put it off and tell ourselves, ‘One Day.’ We are good at ignoring what we want to do, versus what we need to do. This week in my world, I had to stop ignoring.

Recently, I did a post that made reference to doing what you love. We go through seasons and I went through a long season of survival. I was in survival mode for years. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. All it came down to was working jobs I didn’t enjoy, to make money to keep what I had. I couldn’t let go of what I had worked so hard for. It was a vicious cycle of work, eat and sometimes sleep. God has better in store if I would let go of what I had.

fearI am free. It was a gradual procession and not as painful as I believed it would be. To mentally let go of the house, cars, in ground pool, artwork, chandeliers, all these things I thought I had to have. There was so much stuff to take care of, I didn’t have time to care for me or my family.

You should know by now, I live a simple, yet beautiful life today. The old saying, ‘less is more’ holds true. I am free to do whatever I want, whenever God opens the door. Being willing to walk through every door and see if it’s something that aligns with my dream. Willingness is key.

Being willing to move when God says move. That is what clicked this this week. I’m a thinker and have been known to analyze every situation. Pick it apart so to speak. That is wanting to know the outcome first. Stepping into the unknown is a scary feeling and fear will set in to stop you. Face your fear. What scares you? Face it and get moving.

The great thing about dreams are they don’t go away. We leave our dreams, they don’t leave us. They will patiently wait on the sidelines until will take time for them. We are not promised tomorrow, so now is the time. Let go and go.

Stalk Your Dreams

Years ago, I had this poster hanging on my office wall in plain view. Stalkingdreams I had a successful business and worked it day in and day out. My office was gorgeous, as was the rest of the house. A well-known designer from Austin, TX came in and did her magic. I was probably living the majority of the populations dream, but was I living mine?

I don’t recall being happy. Here is something I learned the hard way. “Don’t let your happiness depend on something you may lose”. C.S Lewis. That business slowly declined to the point where I had to let it go. A few months later, I had to let go of that magnificent house and a lot of its beautiful belongings. Did my dreams go too? Even though this was one of life’s hard lessons, the business was just a business and the material things were objects. No one can take away your dreams.

neverhadNo one can take them, but we can lose them. Life get’s in the way, and dreams get set aside or put up on a shelf. When life hits hard, its human nature to go into Survival’ mode. This is not a pretty place to be! Been there, done that and didn’t like it.

Looking back on those years, it’s obvious it was all a part of God’s plan to get me where I am today. I had to go through some pain but it was worth it. The choices I made with money and relationships were not wise, but needed. I can see everything God has given me, when I used to just take care of it. Today, I get to see, feel, and enjoy every moment! What is your dream?

Is it buried under life? I encourage you today to dig deep, uncover that dream, and then take a step toward it. Your dream is waiting on you.
