I was perplexed by these three words displayed on my momentum plugin. It was early Sunday morning, and not enough coffee had been consumed, but I felt like I should know what this means.
Google and I had a conversation. Me: “Hey Google! What does eat the frog mean?” Google replies, “Eat that Frog technique delivers an important message that says if people wish to be successful in their lives, then they have to take immediate, and necessary actions without overthinking too much. According to Brian Tracy, Eat That Frog tactic should be implemented first thing in the morning.”
My momentum plugin needs to tell me that on Monday, not a Sunday. Up until this week, I was taking Monday’s off, but our Team has expanded. There’s a lot of activity in Basecamp on Monday’s and I tried to ignore it, but I can either be a part of it, or play catchup on Tuesday’s. I chose to be a Team player and be present on Monday’s. That way I can give immediate response to who needs what.
I’ll have a normal work week of Monday through Friday with Zen Habits! My other job will take a little bit of weekend time, but we’re going back to Self Care Sunday. Monday will be our designated day to eat the frog.
A Blogger referred to what he saw on one of my posts as ‘elevated self care.’ I hadn’t thought of it that way until he pointed it out, but I do bestow a high level of care.

My daughter is a constant encouragement in my life. She appreciates every little thing, and those are the people you hold close.
The other day, I made a pour over cup, which I haven’t made in so long, I almost forgot how. I sent her this picture of how full it got. We were happily satisfied the cup made it to the desk without spilling!
That’s a full cup!
The frame behind it is a card my daughter gave me. I have several of her cards framed. They are reminders of how she sees me, which on some days is better than I see myself. She’s my freakin’ Guru.
I have a handful of Bloggers I hold close. You probably have some too. The ones who truly resonate with your words and your comment section turns into a full blown conversation. They are your people.
The ones who fill your cup to the rim!

Living in quarantine seems like an opportune time to elevate our level of care.
My weekend begins at 5:01 PM on Friday’s. That is when my phone shuts down until Monday.
I have two jobs as a Virtual Assistant and one is on the weekends, but I’ve had that job for 7 years. It began as my way of staying home with my daughter and making a living after leaving my marriage. It’s been reliable in that sense, but I had to set boundaries.
My first thought this morning was, “Life is not hard. Life is what we make it.” I woke up tired. It’s been a busy few weeks. It was ever so pleasing to know it’s Friday.
My daughter walks by my room and tells me, “I love your bedroom.”
I catch her standing in the doorway staring at it. Since the redo beginning with Under the Bed, it has the feeling of a retreat. When you work from home, you need a room like that. When I walk into my room, I leave work behind.
I’m sitting in the middle of my bed and here’s what my bedside table reveals.
Two out of three Hydrangea blooms that have been with me all week. A small Voluspa candle, because I couldn’t decide what scent I liked best to buy a big one. A large Voluspa candle is a commitment. My favorite ink pen and a water bottle for the weekend.
Someone asked me what I was doing this weekend and I said, “As little as possible.”
