Hopes and Dreams

Hopes and dreams. Otherwise, our lives merely exist.

My life is evolving. Much has changed in the past month, and even more in the past week! “The Love Button“, spoke about the opportunity on Facebook to give and receive love. This caused me to take a look at my personal Facebook timeline.

My personal timeline has become my virtual ‘dream board’.

A dream board is commonly used among Entrepreneurs. Years ago, we cut pictures from magazines, and attached them to poster-board. Once complete, the board would be filled with photos, displaying a life beyond our wildest dreams! Today we have technology so,  “Hello 2017.”

This photo popped up on my Facebook news-feed. My heart ran as fast as it could into that photo! My life is simple, so skip the fancy couch. A Yoga mat, or pillow will do just fine. The view is what made my heart squeal with delight!

To live by the sea is a ‘hope and dream’ of mine.

The photo was posted by a Facebook page entitled, Hopes and Dreams, and was ‘liked’, by me immediately. A beautiful soul is behind this page, and we have become fast friends! God can work through photos to reveal what’s in our hearts!

For the past month a handful of Facebook pages, and the people behind them, have caused my heart to sing! Another page is Love Notes. This woman is full of love, hence the name. After hanging out with these ladies for just a few weeks, my timeline became a literal dream-board! This morning, Hopes and Dreams posted this quote by Jung.

lifeat40

God gives revelation in yearly increments. Once 30 years had passed, I knew my life would change. At the age of 35, my daughter was born, and by 40, my marriage was an unhealthy space for everyone involved. After trying to make it work for 8 more years, God opened a door for us to leave. At 48, my daughter and I began our new life together, with God.

Seeing this quote by Jung stirred up memories. My life continues to change, but is it my life changing, or my soul?  Photos on Facebook, and the people posting them, have helped tap open my heart, and awaken dreams. You can see it on my timeline. My soul is awake as well. ‘Hope’, is what keeps us here, but ‘Dreams’ are where the soul wants to go.

The Seeds of Success by Og Mandino

In this season of thankfulness, I want to share this.

letitgocoach

God, I thank you for this day.

I know I have not accomplished as yet all you expect of me, and if that is your reason for bathing me in the fresh dew of another dawn, I am most grateful.

I am prepared at last, to make you proud of me.

I will forget yesterday, with all it’s trial and tribulations, aggravations and setbacks. The past is already a dream from which I can neither retrieve a single word nor erase any foolish deeds.

I will resolve, however, that if I have injured anyone yesterday through my thoughtlessness, I will not let this day’s sun set before I make amends, and nothing I do today will be of greater importance.

I will not fret the future. My success and happiness does not depend on straining to see what lurks dimly on the horizon, but to…

Get To Work

I love what I get to do today.  All of my work revolves around some type of writing. God gave me a sound mind and a loud mouth, so I get to type these words in hopes of encouraging others. Do what you love and love what you do.

blogIt hasn’t always been this way. It seems to take a while for my mind to catch up with what my heart already knows. Once I learned money and material possessions couldn’t bring me happiness, my life got real simple.

Faith make all things possible. Believe it and receive it peeps. I have a little sign that says, “Faith is seeing light with your heart when your eyes see only darkness ahead.” God gives just enough light for the step I’m on.

There has to be Hope. Faith and Hope go hand in hand. Then there is Love which makes all things beautiful. There is an abundance of beauty in  life and I hope you see it in yours. Life will try to suck us in and it’s easier to get busy trying to make a living rather than living and enjoying life. Don’t overlook the beauty. Have faith in the unseen, hope that it will come to pass, and love your life! It’s much sweeter to ‘get to’ rather than have to.

You Are Worthy

There are a couple of Farmer’s Markets, not far from my house, that I love walking through on Saturday morning’s. For the vendors, this is their livelihood and a delicious service to the community. If you read, “The Final Day of A Better Way To Live“, the Farmer’s Market is the perfect opportunity to give of yourself. I say hello and hug most of the vendors. It was cold this morning, so they were bundled up, but present. They were so happy to see a smiling face, it didn’t really matter if I made a purchase. The hug, smile, chit chat and laugh were enough.

Bathroom Mirror

As I was getting ready this morning, I read the writing on my bathroom mirror, and wanted to share. This statement was given to me by a friend of mine and I passed it onto my daughter. We say this out loud daily, and my daughter, Bailey, wrote it on the mirror. Isn’t that one of the places we look for approval?

“I am strong enough, pretty enough, smart enough, and I am worthy of all good!”

There is a difference between using a mirror to get ready, and looking in the mirror and seeing the person looking back. My hope is that you like that person looking back, because God doesn’t make no junk. It took me a long time to be able to look into a mirror after my drinking career. Once I did, I knew there was someone in there worthy of all good.

Write it on your mirror. Speak it out loud for you to hear. Give it breath and life and above all else, believe it’s true. Because it is.

What Woke Me Up

We met in the kitchen, staring at one another with that wide-eyed look of, “What do we do?” It had been eight years since I had heard that noise requiring attention. It was almost 4 am, and this had been going on for a little while. The high-pitched cry, squeal and whining noise coming from the next room, had woken us up, and it was time for action. Not sure what type, we were going to have to dive in and start marking things off the list until happiness resumed.

bayThis picture is my daughter, Bailey, and it describes her perfectly. She took this a couple of days ago, and when she showed it to me, my heart melted. I could see she wasn’t a little girl anymore and she was growing into a beautiful young lady. Wearing her Vintage, Polo golf hat and resting her arm on her treasured Taylor guitar. That’s Bay.

She’s been wanting a puppy for months. We have been talking it through, and praying for the right time and the right dog to enter our lives. We knew that a neighbor’s Australian Cattle Dog, had given birth to a litter around Thanksgiving, so we went to look at them. Need I say more?

The sounds that woke us up in the middle of the night were from her new puppy. We went through a series of activities trying to meet his basic needs. I finally held him close and snug up against me and he fell asleep. All he wanted was to feel loved and secure. Just like us.

puppyAs I walked by her bedroom door this morning, I peeped in looking for the pup. He was sound asleep with her in the bed. Coming into the den with coffee in hand, it occurred to me that she could handle this. My past experience has been, me helping the cat have kittens and me taking care of the puppy who is now eight years old. This is not about me.

It’s about Proverbs 22:6, “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” She’s old enough now to do so many things without my assistance. My hope is that she will pass me and do more! It’s a hard thing for a Mom to admit, but at the same time, it’s a proud Mama moment.
