Will Find You

I read this quote and made it into a meme.

I’m grateful that I learned how to make memes. When I first began, a stranger stepped up and sent me a message that was very discouraging.

He owns several Facebook pages with lots of followers, so maybe he was trying to help the newbie? I stopped making them for a while after that.

He didn’t approve of the font I was using.

Back then, I was just learning and experimented with every type font. Each quote has a unique feel and deserves it’s own background and style.

I looked at one of his pages and every meme was on a black background with the same font.

Aesthetically pleasing.

Mine come from the heart.

They are not perfect, but it’s not so much how they look, but what they say. When I make one, I feel someone needs to hear that today. Maybe it’s you.

Joy is of the heart. Keep doing what makes your heart happy my darling and joy will find you.

Fast or Slow

I used to be afraid of aging.

Back then, it was for vanity reasons, but I’m not afraid anymore. I like growing up, and learning new things. Now, to just process it all.

I woke up at 6:00 am, grabbed my water bottle, and stepped outside to sit in the porch swing. We have a feral cat that has hung around for a while now. We feed it, but have never been able to get anywhere near it. It looks like she may be pregnant, and as she hopped up on the porch, I heard her purring.

She was full of love, and shared it with me.

It took a while, and much circling on her part, but eventually, she hopped up into the swing. I was amazed being this close to her, so I reached out and lifted her into my lap. She didn’t know what to do. She started kneading my robe, and lifting her face up toward mine.

It was scary for both of us. I wanted to keep my face in tact, and she wanted to trust.

My daughter has me hooked on fresh pressed coffee. I know right? Always the Keurig, but not today! She gave me precise instructions lastnight, so I tried to recall it all this morning.

Get the kettle of water almost to a boil, then take it off to rest a minute. I measured the beans, and placed them in the grinder. Kept looking at them to make sure they didn’t turn to dust. Dumped them in the carafe, poured in the water, and the lid went on with a slight press. It didn’t look right. It wasn’t as dark as hers, but I am learning.

Once it was done, it was a robust cup of coffee. When I poured the cream in, I had to use a spoon to stir it. That was new. Normally the cream would just mix right in, but this stuff was thick! It seemed to take a long time to go through a lot of steps to enjoy this fine cup of brew. It was more than worth it.

I have spent many years rushing through life, but today, it’s all about the love. What used to be fast is now slow.

Quitting My Circumstances

My daughter spent most of the day in her room. She hasn’t done that in years, or not since we moved out on our own. She walked out of her room and asked, “So, when are you going to quit this job?” Her Mother was unrecognizable, sitting in a vat of misery. So, that’s what I did.

Since taking this job, which began as helping someone out of a tight spot, I have noticed a few things about myself that I didn’t like. I have been a Virtual Assistant by trade, but this job escalated way beyond that. I won’t bore you with all the details, but let’s just say I was under micromanagement. I can do my job, but the person who hires me has to let me.

The last email of many I received today caught my eye. He had listed all my responsibilities, and wanted to ensure this was a pleasant experience for both of us. I had agreed to answer the phone, return voicemail, and schedule appointments. Very basic. This list was not basic, so I hit reply, and told him he needed a full time assistant. He needed someone else.

Then I told him, “This is not pleasant.”

My world got very quiet after that reply was sent. It was so good to hear the silence.

I walked across the room to my personal laptop and pulled up my Letitgocoach Facebook page. While I had been sitting in a daze, God had been on Facebook. I had 99+ notifications in a two hour time span. I clicked on them, and to my surprise, this one lady had liked and shared over 50 of my posts. I pulled up her page, just to see if what was happening was real.

It was like God was saying…”See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19. Taking this job was not a new thing. It was old because I have gone down this road before. The only thing that has changed from the last time I helped, is me.

Good For Me

Something happens when I step into this virtual world of Blogging. As soon as I enter, it feels like home.

You can always come here to find encouragement.

My purpose in life is to love people and help them along their journey. I don’t claim to have all the answers, just sharing my heart and what God is showing me today.

We can walk this life together, which is so much better than alone. This life is our gift and it’s meant to be opened and enjoyed daily. How we use it directs our path, but I thank God today, I stumble and don’t fall.

This is one of the first memes I made.

The first few I made have words on them out of a journal I carry around all the time. When God tells me something, I write it down. It may be something I’ve heard before, or something original. Any worthwhile thought goes in the journal.

God prompted me months ago to start making memes. I looked at free software online and was discouraged rather quickly. I’m not super technical, but I can usually figure things out. Some of these software’s are not meant to be figured out. They are merely there to frustrate. The one I chose is called Picfont.

So when is something ‘good for you’?

When it feeds your soul. There are going to be lessons in life, but should life be one continuous lesson? I think not. If that were the case, I’d feel beat up, worn down and defeated, which is the complete opposite of who I am. I wouldn’t be able lift people up if I were down.

If something is good for you, it can be good to you in a loving manner. My mother was good to me and what she taught me was good for me, but eating all those veggies when I was little did not feel like love to me.

Iam

This meme is my mantra for my life. It’s what I had to tell myself everyday for a year until I could look comfortably in the mirror and own it. It wasn’t easy, but it laid the foundation of who I am today.

Picfont is good to me and is set up to lovingly assist. I will grow and get better at making memes and eventually try more challenging software. It will need to be good to me, to be good for me, or I will not stick with it.

Challenge is good and helps us grow, but it needs to do so with love.
