Surprise Yourself

It’s been a little over a week since my Blogging everyday began. The idea surfaced during Thanksgiving holiday. From there it hovered around the back of my mind until the idea became something I really wanted to do.

Listening to Lewis Capaldi inspired me.

When I found his version of It’s the Climb, that song fueled the idea. When we have an idea, or feel led toward an accomplishment, it’s not the end result for me. It’s when the idea turns into a solid decision and it moves you.

Show me a decision and I’ll show you a direction.

There have been surprises along the way as with any journey. It hasn’t been easy and I wanted to re-evaluate this idea after day three. I don’t wish to become a daily Blogger, so I had to kick that mindset to the curb and simply enjoy the daily activity of it.

It’s the Climb

Yesterday, while writing  Feel the Music, Lewis Capaldi began singing a cover of the Miley Cyrus song, The Climb. It’s one of my favorite songs and yes, I love Miley. She went through a major growth phase and being a celebrity, we got to watch.

To find our true selves, we need to peel back the layers of life we’ve accumulated. It’s a messy process, but I want to find that woman God wants me to be. She’s in there, on this journey with me.

This journey is worth it to me.

Feel the Music

It decided to rain today.

The dogs are not pleased, but patient inside.

They probably dislike that I’m perfectly content on rainy days by reading, writing or both. One sits beside me displaying his most pitiful expression, coinciding with a tail wag.

The day began with coffee and slid into English tea and scones. My daughter laughed when I told her, “I bought a fireplace!“, but it takes center stage on days like today.

My music taste recently on YouTube has been Lewis Capaldi. My daughter told me about him and he is referred to as ‘America’s Sweetheart.’ You can hear his voice because the instrumental is minimal.

After YouTube played several songs by Lewis, it created a playlist of similar artists. Normally, I feel a need to walk over and click ‘skip’ on the ads, or the song itself, but that didn’t happen today. It was a divine playlist that went from one heartfelt melody to the next.

It’s been playing for hours and I just now touched the screen to share this song with my daughter and you.

It’s been two years since posting my first Feel the Music and today, my darlings, that’s what I did.
