I Scare People

I love on people. That’s what I do. It’s scary to some.

I refer to almost everyone who crosses my path as ‘lovely’. If you’re a man, you will be called, ‘darling’. If I see you in person, you’re going to get a hug. In today’s world, this can be misinterpreted as flirting.

This is why it took so long for me to reply to comments. If you comment on my writing, you’re going to receive a bucket of love dumped on you. That’s just who I am, so consider yourself warned.

It’s my way of giving to the world through love.

I have a male Blogger friend with a lovely wife.

He commented on one of my posts, but when I responded, he was very quick to tell me how much he adored his wife. Haha I knew he was married, and respect what they have. Once he saw it’s who I am we became friends, and I adore him to this day.

What this Blogger did for me is immeasurable.

He let me practice responding to his comments.

We became soulmates in this virtual community. All of our comments were not published because they would be misconstrued. We encouraged one another to become our authentic selves. He hasn’t Blogged all summer, so I hope he’s writing a book.

Even though he’s not here, what he taught me is.

To the waiter in the restaurant, I say, “Thank you darling.” To the cashier behind the counter, “Have a glorious day lovely!” I can feel them being lifted up.

And to the soul reading this, ‘Welcome to my world’, but don’t be afraid. You’re supposed to feel loved.

Feel the Music

In the past four years, I’ve had the pleasure of loving two men. I don’t talk about it much, but love has been on my mind this weekend, as you can see from yesterday’s post.

Social media teaches us it’s all about the numbers. Once I realized that, it was a sad day seeing numbers, instead of souls. All of my accounts are now closed except for one.

When I began this Blog it was for a couple of reasons.

One-I wanted my daughter to have a place to go, and read about our life together. Two-I wanted to change somebody’s perspective on life. Not the world, just one.

There is a comment sitting in my comment folder that I will not publish, but this Blog changed her world. There is an email sitting in my Inbox from the son of a dear friend. He found this Blog, and was impacted when I wrote about her.

Hearing this song made me think of those men. It was love that changed their world, and loving them changed mine.

I love to love. That’s what I do. One Blog post at a time.

That is Love

This morning, sitting still in the front porch swing, I felt an overwhelming sense of love. It was the most wonderful feeling. It welled up inside of me, and wanted to become tears, but I held it inside to hold onto that moment.

It only got better from there.

You know I frequent a small town coffee-house.

The coffee is a bonus. It’s the people I gravitate toward. Today, their love and kindness blew me away. God had it all lined up for me to walk in at just the right moment. The owner was making something specifically for my heart.

I walked in and he yelled, “Barbara! I am making something for you!” The timing is what amazed me, because I rarely walk in the same time of day. My daughter said, “When they know you all too well at the coffee shop?” That is true love.

He had bought a beautiful pour over, along with my favorite kettle! I was literally screaming in awe of this magnificent sight! He was beaming with excitement. It was a moment.

He said that he envisioned my daughter and I sitting at a table, sharing this moment. He would be right. Just the other day, my daughter said she wished he had a pour over.

God gave me another Patron! That is love.

A friend takes time out of her busy schedule each day to send a video of her life, and thoughts. That is love.

You are here, taking time to read this. That is love.

A Vintage hat box full of stars. That is love.

Choose to Connect

My daughter arrived home yesterday from her Father’s, and we fell asleep together while talking. When she was a child, she wasn’t allowed to crawl in bed with us. My mother never let me, so I felt it was important for my daughter in becoming self-sufficient. Mama would always walk me back to my bed, tuck me in and leave. She would do it as many times as needed in one night, and it taught me that Mama was there, but I could sleep on my own. My daughter is self sufficient.

At almost 18, she made a choice to stay put, and sleep.

enjoy

It really is the little thing in life, that are big things to me.

Okay lovelies, I promised to share what I learned last weekend, by stepping away from Social Media. My phone is still inactive, and it will most likely be reactivated later on this week, but this is interesting. It’s not about the phone, as much as what it can do. For me, it’s about the connection.

I thought about calling my sister, but oh…my phone is dead. Lol If you are confused as to what’s going on, please read It’s a Choice. I made a choice not to pay my phone bill last week.

My phone didn’t have any service, but it would still connect to WiFi, so I wasn’t disconnected from my friends. We messaged one another using Facebook messenger all weekend. The thing I missed about my phone was calling my sister. She chooses not to own a computer, but the reason shocked me. You know why she doesn’t have a computer?

Fear.

My sister lives in North Carolina, which is a ways from Texas. She enjoys her privacy, like I do, but she has different reasons. She has let the fear of the corrupt part of this world to keep her from enjoying the connection. She is afraid someone will steal all her personal information, and or identity.

courage

By not having a computer, she is missing so many life moments. She could video chat her son that lives in New York, and see his face. She has never read any of my Blogs, or seen Letitgocoach Facebook page. She admitted that she loves using Google on a friend’s computer when they visit, so that is as a good sign. You go Google! I encouraged her to go look at some, buy one, and I would help her set it up.

Sometimes, I have to make a choice where to spend my money, but my sister doesn’t. To spend money on my phone bill, or go sit at my favorite coffee shop with friends, is an easy choice. Maybe we need to put the word, “Mobile”, back in front of ‘phone’, because that is what it is. It allows a connection while being mobile. When I go mobile, I have become accustomed to leaving my phone at home.

So, this got me to thinking. How can I become more real in the virtual world? Facebook has made all these fancy advancements in technology, so the tools are there. The only thing stopping me was me. It’s been 3 years since Letitgocoach was born, and no one has seen her. Writing about everyday life, and seeing it are two different things.

challenge

Yesterday, I was mopping my floors, and it became clear what to do. Mandy Hunter popped into mind. Mandy is a huge inspiration, and we have a special bond, because we are so much alike. Mandy has a popular Facebook page called One2One Healing, and that is how we met. One day, I hope to meet her in person, but the woman lives in Ireland!

Mandy started doing ‘live streams.’ She goes to the beach, or hikes through the woods, and takes us with her virtually! It’s an amazing feeling, and it’s like we are there with her! We can talk with her during it because it’s happening live!

“Mandy uses her phone”, I thought, but I have a laptop.

Is it a choice, or a fear that needs to be faced?

Look around you, and choose to connect.

Dream While Awake

I haven’t written a Blog in three weeks. This was not intentional. It was like giving myself permission ‘not to’ if it wasn’t inspired. Not long ago, I felt this need to Blog almost every day, but letting go of that ‘need’ is freeing.

My last post entitled, Time and Talents, caused me to ponder what I really wanted my life to be. God has given my daughter and me a beautiful life, but there is always more in store with God. Looking at everything I’ve laid my hand to, and asking myself, “Is this God’s very best? Do I see any fruit from my labor? Do I want to continue everything I’ve been doing the past 3 years?” Comfortable feels good doesn’t it?

The last few weeks I have been preparing my nest, and myself for more. Making room by de-cluttering my mind, home, and even washing my truck. Taking care of everything God has given me, and looking to see if it still fits in my life. My mission is still to reveal the beauty of everyday life, but how beautiful is my life? Can it be even more beautiful?

Loosen the grip on the seen, and make room for the unseen.

A couple of weeks ago, I was lying in bed getting ready to go to sleep. Before I drifted off, a slide show began rolling through my mind. It was a recap of the past 5 years, and I could see how far God had brought me. The slide show brought me up to the present moment, and I could see my current surroundings, but it slowly rolled for a glimpse more.

I was still lying in my bed, but the bedroom looked different. It was lighter, and brighter. My current light fixture attached to the ceiling was replaced by a dainty, crystal chandelier.

Imagine your most beautiful life. What does it look like?

God has even better in store. It’s far more than we can see.

We have dreams in our hearts, and God knows our heart.

beach

This is my dream. To sit on the beach at any given moment. What that looks like specifically, I am not sure, but this picture has been sitting on my laptop for quite some time.

Will I live at the beach, or have a vacation home there?

To watch the sunset over the sea, and drift off to sleep with a window open listening to the waves. To walk along the beach at sunrise, breathing in the salty air. There will be a loft in the house with a magnificent view for writing, painting, building stained glass, and whatever else lies deep in my heart. A lot is unknown, and unseen, but this is my dream.

God’s timing is impeccable, but also unpredictable. To believe in my heart for God’s very best as I did 5 years ago. You may be thinking, “Sounds good Barb, but how are you going to get from point A to point B?” My love for people, networking, helping others achieve their dreams, and my adoration for ‘pretty’, has led me to new career opportunity.

A new passion? No…God has renewed the passion I had 20 years ago. It will take stepping out into the unknown again, and trusting Him in a big way. Thank you to all the souls who have taught me to wait, and wait well. To be unsettled where I am, and be able to utilize what God has taught me up to this point, because there’s more. Is there WiFi on the beach?

Good To Me Or Good For Me? Let’s Do Both

Something happens when I step into this virtual world of Blogging. As soon as I enter, it feels like home. Thank you for being here, reading and sharing my words. The reason I come in is to share, but the reason I stay is for you.

You can always come here to find encouragement. That is my purpose in life is to love people and help them along their journey. I don’t claim to have all the answers, just sharing what is on my heart and what God is showing me today. We can walk and learn this life together, which is so much better than alone. This life is our gift and it’s meant to be opened and enjoyed daily. How we use it directs our path, but I thank God today, I only stumble and don’t fall.

pickyouThis is one of the first memes I made. The first few I made have words on them out of a journal I carry around all the time. When God tells me something, I write it down. It may be something I’ve heard before, or something original. Any worthwhile thought gets written in that book.

God prompted me months ago to start making memes. I looked at free software online and was discouraged rather quickly. I’m not super technical, but I can usually figure things out. Some of these software’s are not meant to be figured out. They are merely there to frustrate.

PicMonkey is one that is zero fun. It has all the whistles and bells, but it even frustrates my teenage daughter, who has artistic ability. Red flag number one and the name says it all. Coming across the one I was able to use was a God send. It’s called Picfont and again, the name speaks.

linedry1So when is something ‘good for you’? When it feeds your soul is my indication. There are going to be lessons in life, but should life be one continuous lesson? I think not. If that were the case, I would feel beat up, worn down and defeated, which is the complete opposite of who I am. I wouldn’t be able to share my gift and lift people up if I were down.

If something is good for you, it can be good to you in a loving manner. My mother was good to me and what she taught me was good for me, but eating all those veggies when I was little did not feel like love to me.

IamThis last meme was the first one I made. If you know me at all, you should know, this is my mantra for my life. It’s what I had to tell myself everyday for a year until I could look comfortably in the mirror and own it. Feel free to click, print and tape it to your mirror. That is what I had to do and it was hard work, but it laid the foundation of who I am today.

Picfont is good to me and is set up to lovingly assist. I will grow and get better at making memes and dive in to more challenging software. It will have to be good to me to be good for me, or I will not stick with it. Challenge is good and helps us grow, but it needs to do so with love.
