It’s important what’s around you.
My bedroom has always been a haven.
I’ve had some glamorous ones, but the one I have now is simple. Do I miss the ginormous bedroom with it’s own sitting area? Nope. Now I sit in the middle of my bed, and watch the day begin as the sunlight streams through the double windows.
I’m surrounded by my favorite things.
This is a beautiful attitude adjuster.
It reminds me how we’re supposed to live our daily life. If we do all things with love, even things we might dread, the main emotion we feel is love.
Maybe you have a job you’re not particularly passionate about. Do it with love, and it gets better. Love encompasses and overpowers negativity.
Here is a card from my daughter.
I’ve had this frame for years. It has just enough bling, but on the verge of being gaudy. Seeing this card sitting by my bed makes me smile because it’s what my daughter sees, and what I strive to be.
People who love us can see our full potential. Even when we don’t, they do.
What does your world resonate? Is it filled with people and things that make you better? If not, you may want to change how you surround yourself.
It’s snowing on WordPress, and in my home.
My daughter loves Christmas. It’s the most beautiful time of the year! A couple of years ago, I took a picture of a Vintage Shoppe’s window display of snow. It was so cute, I showed it my daughter this week. Well…..she ran with the idea.
Once we figured out how it was made, she ran to the store for fishing line, and cotton balls. She fluffed each cotton ball, and cut a strand of fishing line to her desired length. She passed the line through an eye of a needle, and stuck the needle through the ball. It fell down the line and stopped at the knot. She tied another knot where she wanted the next cotton ball to land, and continued on.
She found it very soothing to make, and I find snowballs hanging in the windows a soothing addition to our home.
This picture displays only one window she did. Yep…every window in out home will have snow by the time she’s done.
We are moving into a new home at the end of the year, so while I’m wrapping my mind around what needs to leave this house, she is adding more to it. This would stress some people out, but I’m gonna let her have at it, and let it snow.
I wrote this two years ago today. I find it interesting how time goes by, and our lives change. This Blog refers to something from my past coming back to haunt me, but I don’t even recall what that was. It must not have been that bad, because I’m here loving life.
Another thing I noticed is, now when people ask me what I do, the first thing I tell them is, “I write.” That has come to the forefront for me, and my job is in the background. I also trust God more now, than a couple of years ago. Time goes by, we make choices, and here we are.
I’m sitting here before I retire for the evening and just wanted to write. I love to write. People ask me what I do and I tell them about my jobs and then I add, “I’m a writer.” They find my job status interesting enough. Helping people with their businesses is a stretch and grow for me, but they always look up at me with a smile when I add the ‘writer’ part. It’s like they want to ask all of the questions rolling through their mind, but are hesitant. It’s fun.
I found myself coming full circle today on trusting God. There was a season in my life, not that long ago, that I trusted Him just to wake me up the next day. He always did. Not knowing what direction my new life should go, I trusted Him for every step and sometimes every breath.
Making decisions with…

Did you enjoy playing Simon Says as a kid? Or red light green light? I did. It wasn’t so much as someone telling me what to do, as it was the anticipation of what that may be. The anticipation of the move was exciting. We have lost that somewhere along the way. Now people dread moving and make it sound horrendous. Well, I got news for ya.
Get good at moving.
Ten years ago, when we lost our home to foreclosure, I thought I would die. It was the hardest thing for me to accept and I got mad at God for allowing it to happen. I couldn’t blame God, I knew we were living above our means. That was the beginning of trusting God for every move.
I told myself right then, I would not own a house again. I couldn’t go through the pain of having something that substantial that could be lost overnight. Every two years, since the foreclosure, I have rented houses. You can rent a home with a year lease almost anywhere nowadays.
When I left my marriage, it didn’t matter to me where I lived. It had to be close enough for my ex to see our daughter, but other than that, I was open. God led us to a small home on 40 acres in McDade, Texas.
I had never heard of it, but was willing to go check it out. Fell in love with it, loaded up a U-Haul and made it our home. We knew no one and it was literally a fresh start. I remember friends asking me why we moved to McDade. There was no reason. It’s just where God led us and we trust Him.
December of last year, my daughter and I sat down and talked about wanting a little bit larger home. We had been going to the Laundromat for over a year and a washer and dryer would be like heaven for us. The house we were in didn’t have room for a washer and dryer, so we kept a grateful heart for the Laundromat and got it down to a science.
Three months later, the house we are in now appeared. We went to go look at it and saw a clothesline in the backyard. It was in another small town on 5 acres of fenced in property. The house had everything on our list, including a new washer and dryer. God knew our hearts and then came the willingness. People ask why we moved to this town and I have no clue. God was blessing us for our faithfulness and He wanted to see how fast I could move.
Do you love your life? God wants us to. Whatever is holding you back from living the life of your dreams, you need to look at that and see which is more important. It doesn’t take money. I was a single Mom with no credit and a part time job the first time we moved. God will place the right people in your path to rent from. People believe it takes so much to move, when really it takes less. Simplify your belongings. Keep what you love and be willing to make a move.
