On Your Desktop

I was looking at files saved to the desktop of my laptop and thinking, “It really shows who you are.”

A man I work with asked me to help him test some software. He needed to assist a client remotely, so I let him access my computer. When he was done clicking around, he backed out of the program and could see my desktop.

There was a long pause.

Like, “Barb? What is all of that?”

Memes and pictures for Blogs.

Pretty pictures and inspirational quotes. I would imagine his desktop looked different than mine. He’s a business man, so there’s probably a lot of Excel spreadsheets. When he asked me to open a program like Excel, I had to search my computer to find it. 🙂

Here’s one saved on January 1st.

passion

Someone asked me, “What are you passionate about?” I responded, “Anything I choose to do will be fueled by passion.”

Otherwise, I have to make myself do it, but sometimes that’s good. It gets me out of my comfort zone and I find a new passion.

I will file the memes into their designated folder, but that will just open up space for more. I’ve never had too many memes.

In a line up of opened laptops, could you pick out the one that belongs to you?

What’s on your desktop?

Get to Growing

This meme resonated with me and has been sitting on my desktop all year.

raining

For months, it feels like there’s been more rain than sunshine in Texas. I’ve written about blooming, but today I’m wondering if that’s the easy part. Like an exhalation.

The part of the bloom worth remembering is everything leading up to it. Wind, rain and cooler temperatures anyone?

We grow through what we go through.

This has helped me see the rainy days in a whole new light. Maybe blooming is the easy part. Growth happens with the rain.

Let it rain and get to growing.

Take a Bow

Friday has evolved into my favorite day of the week. It marks the end of the work week and envelopes one’s soul in a subtle satisfaction of the here and now. Every task wasn’t completed, but there’s honor in showing up.

takeabow

The Sunflower is easily enjoyed in Texas, but thanks to this meme, my perspective has shifted about them. Normally, I look for the Sunflower standing upright and straight. That’s a difficult find with the stem being long and heavy headed.

Today, I see them in this field taking a bow.

We made it darlings. It’s Friday! Take a bow.

Defy All Logic

When I’m being a Virtual Assistant during the week and need instant inspiration, I pull up Pinterest. It knows what I like and displays a soothing meme within seconds. Gotta love that stalker algorithm. 🙂

Pinterest is good to me and for me.

I saw this and it resonated.

logic

When I have an idea and begin thinking logically, soon the idea is easily dismissed. Here’s what I do to stay away from logical thinking.

I pray/ponder the idea for three days.

Wait for peace to become an anchor.

Lay out the steps and start doing.

Create or gather the material needed to bring the idea into reality. Hold on tight as I step out in faith. (That is the scary part) My God is not big into logic. When He calls my name to do something, He knows it’s gonna be done to the best of my ability. (Even scarier part)

The most important thing I do is what I don’t do. I don’t tell anyone, except my daughter, about the idea. I don’t seek advice, or encourage opinion about it. When I have a good idea that makes me nervous, it’s already planned.

Live a life that’ll defy all logic.
