Dream A Sweet Dream

I love Steve Jobs. He was an unmatched Entrepreneur. I saw a quote from him this morning and shared it to my Letitgocoach Facebook page. It reminded me why I do what I do. Encouraging people on the daily is what I love to do. In person or virtually, I want to give you hope. It was 3 short years ago that I felt alone and hopeless, so I have learned a thing or two. This month alone has been a major growth and learning experience, so it’s time to write.

This month was nothing like I planned. It was supposed to be a month of reflection and meditation to prepare for the upcoming year. My Mama passed away a couple of weeks ago and even though it was an answered prayer, I wasn’t ready. She had been living with Dementia for several years and the family was at a breaking point with care. My sister and I put our hearts together and prayed. Two days later Mama didn’t wake up. God moves swiftly in my life.

calendarI walked through my house into the kitchen and noticed the window fogged up which told me it was cold outside. My calendar was stuck on 15, and at first glance it looked like December 2015. A closer look made me realize that was the last day I had been in my home. “My ways are not your ways”, say the Lord. You would think I’d get this by now.

This is the first Blog I’ve posted since the 13th. I’ve been reading, watching and trying to assimilate what God is doing in my life. God knows my heart and has taken what I laid my hand to, and turned it into His. At first I was a little disappointed in myself for not reaching my goal, but now I see God is giving me more than I ever hoped for going into next year!

Do what you love and love what you do. That is the extent of my plan, and the rest is God’s.

Take Your Time

Going through the Letting Go process, I saw immediate change within me. One of the first things I noticed was, it sloughed away my old skin and left me with new. I had accumulated a lot of learned behaviors over the years. I was ready and willing to let go of old thinking and behaviors that no longer served me. My circumstances had changed, so it was time for me to see what that looked like, change and grow along with them.

timesteveAnother thing I noticed rather quickly was, I had time. I could actually take my time doing things and do things well. It was like I never had time before and this was new to me. God had given me a clean plate and I was going to be very picky about what I put on it.

This life was going to have nourishment! This life I was following my heart, but taking my head with me. Steve Jobs was full of wisdom and I treasure his quotes. Here he says, “Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become.” I wanted to help others let go, so here I am.

I knew I was definitely going to take my time. When my daughter and I first started living in our new home, we tended to still feel hurried, like we were on this life or death schedule from before. The Letting Go process gave me the revelation to stop. Just stop everything and enjoy the moment.

If we needed to be somewhere by a certain time, we allowed more time to get ready, so we weren’t rushed getting out the door. Enjoy the moment of getting ready together. We got to know one another on a different level, so much so, there were days we met at the front door wearing the same colors. One of us would always go back and change, but today we call what color we’re wearing beforehand.

Take your time. It’s all we really have and once it’s gone, we can’t get it back. Choose how you spend it and who you share it with. Seek out good things in your life and enjoy every moment. Everything else is secondary.

A Better Way To Live~Day 10

Most-precious-resource-is-timeAs you have probably noticed from previous Blogs…I love Steve Jobs. His life here on this earth was cut short, but oh what a legacy he left behind! Where would we be today without this guy? Probably not typing on this laptop.

Are you ready for Day 10? It’s a real mind bender.

Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care, kindness, understanding, and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.

I love doing acts of kindness in secret. Recently, my daughter and I were at a local restaurant, and the waitress was a single Mom. She has three kids and is a little concerned about Christmas along with the power bill. She left our check laying on the table and our meal was $15. I paid for the meal, and my daughter leaves a $60 tip. We gathered up our belongings, hurried out the door and hopped into our truck before she could notice.

We do little things like that quite often, and enjoy helping others in that way. Today’s rule challenges us to show action face to face, with no thought of any reward. To show a complete stranger all the goodness you can muster. This should make for a very interesting day! If you are following this series, and choose to take this challenge, please share your comments below. I would love to hear how your life changed by changing someone else’s, and your thoughts around midnight.
