Defy All Logic

When I’m being a Virtual Assistant during the week and need instant inspiration, I pull up Pinterest. It knows what I like and displays a soothing meme within seconds. Gotta love that stalker algorithm. 🙂

Pinterest is good to me and for me.

I saw this and it resonated.

logic

When I have an idea and begin thinking logically, soon the idea is easily dismissed. Here’s what I do to stay away from logical thinking.

I pray/ponder the idea for three days.

Wait for peace to become an anchor.

Lay out the steps and start doing.

Create or gather the material needed to bring the idea into reality. Hold on tight as I step out in faith. (That is the scary part) My God is not big into logic. When He calls my name to do something, He knows it’s gonna be done to the best of my ability. (Even scarier part)

The most important thing I do is what I don’t do. I don’t tell anyone, except my daughter, about the idea. I don’t seek advice, or encourage opinion about it. When I have a good idea that makes me nervous, it’s already planned.

Live a life that’ll defy all logic.

Embrace Some Change

My favorite part of my daughter being away on weekends is taking up the entire driveway. I park smack in the middle. I sleep similarly, by spreading out and taking up the entire bed.

I’m not afraid to be alone. I quite enjoy it.

I spent the weekend decluttering our home.

As we grow and change from within, it’s natural for our surroundings to change. I packed up items we weren’t using, but wished to keep. Moved pictures and small items to new locations. The biggest change was the coffee bar.

I moved it to another part of the house.

Sign under mirror says, “You are gold baby. Solid Gold.”

Our coffee bar is mainly tea and what was once the coffee bar is now wide open space.

Don’t panic. The Chemex is in the kitchen. 🙂

When my daughter returns home she knows she will see changes made. She almost expects it.

They may be obvious, or it might be in the tiniest of details. Now, she looks around eagerly for the changes. She moved her room around last week.

To raise our children to be self sufficient adults. That’s the goal. Be the change. Move stuff around in your environment and soul.

She knows I love her, but she also sees me enjoying being alone. Embrace the change.

Feel the Music

There was a time in my life I stopped feeling the music. Sure, I would listen to the lyrics, but to let the music get inside and move you. That’s what this series is about.

When this song comes on the radio, my daughter grins.

My feet start tapping as I turn up the volume, and yell, “Whip whip!” It’s impossible to sit still during this song!

My daughter has watched me begin writing less. She wants me to continue writing, but there has been a shift. Writing isn’t the forefront of my life today. I’m living life and taking time to jot it down.

There have been many changes this year and there will be more. I’m to a point where I just want to be used by God however He sees fit. He has used me a lot in life and I have done and been a lot of things, but He’s not done yet!

I don’t want to step gracefully through the pearly gates. I want to take a running start and slide through head first. To live each day and roll with what He lays in front of me.

To make God proud. I’m willing to do whatever it takes.

Permission To Move

Did you enjoy playing Simon Says as a kid? Or red light green light? I did. It wasn’t so much as someone telling me what to do, as it was the anticipation of what that may be. The anticipation of the move was exciting. We have lost that somewhere along the way. Now people dread moving and make it sound horrendous. Well, I got news for ya.

Get good at moving.

Ten years ago, when we lost our home to foreclosure, I thought I would die. It was the hardest thing for me to accept and I got mad at God for allowing it to happen. I couldn’t blame God, I knew we were living above our means. That was the beginning of trusting God for every move.

I told myself right then, I would not own a house again. I couldn’t go through the pain of having something that substantial that could be lost overnight. Every two years, since the foreclosure, I have rented houses. You can rent a home with a year lease almost anywhere nowadays.

When I left my marriage, it didn’t matter to me where I lived. It had to be close enough for my ex to see our daughter, but other than that, I was open. God led us to a small home on 40 acres in McDade, Texas.

I had never heard of it, but was willing to go check it out. Fell in love with it, loaded up a U-Haul and made it our home. We knew no one and it was literally a fresh start. I remember friends asking me why we moved to McDade. There was no reason. It’s just where God led us and we trust Him.

December of last year, my daughter and I sat down and talked about wanting a little bit larger home. We had been going to the Laundromat for over a year and a washer and dryer would be like heaven for us. The house we were in didn’t have room for a washer and dryer, so we kept a grateful heart for the Laundromat and got it down to a science.

Three months later, the house we are in now appeared.

We went to go look at it and saw a clothesline in the backyard. It was in another small town on 5 acres of fenced in property. The house had everything on our list, including a new washer and dryer. God knew our hearts and then came the willingness. People ask why we moved to this town and I have no clue. God was blessing us for our faithfulness and He wanted to see how fast I could move.

Do you love your life? God wants us to.

Whatever is holding you back from living the life of your dreams, you need to look at that and see which is more important. It doesn’t take money. I was a single Mom with no credit and a part time job the first time we moved. God will place the right people in your path to rent from. People believe it takes so much to move, when really it takes less. Simplify your belongings. Keep what you love and be willing to make a move.
