You Are Loved

Two days ago, I posted this meme on Letitgocoach Facebook page. I thought it’s sweet, but didn’t realize the impact it would have. People are drinking it up like water.

loved

I was thinking, to find our true selves, it really is in the unbecoming. To peel off the layers of what has adhered to us. What this world has told us we should be and how we should act.

Who I am in private, when nobody’s watching, is who I truly am.

Do I like her? I love her.

Do other people like me? Some do, but I’ve been single since March and I see myself embracing the New Year single. I’m on that part of the journey to walk alone, but I don’t feel alone. My higher power is leading the way. Whenever I have moments of loneliness, someone reaches out, and that moment fills with love.

I’m grateful to this community.

You reassure me I am loved. When I hear notifications from the WordPress app coming in on my phone, it sounds like love. WordPress is the only app I have set to receive notifications, so I know it’s you!

Thank you for being here. You are loved.

Just Write

Looking through my Reader at the list of people I follow is disturbing. There are so many writers not writing. Some have not published a post for days, weeks, even months. If you are on WordPress right now reading this, I have to ask…”Are you writing?”

I met a girlfriend for coffee this morning. 🙂

She has the potential of becoming a great writer!

She told me what her sister said about her writing. She said,”You are just doing that for attention.”

That was disturbing for me on so many levels.

We agreed that her sister tried to hurt her, and what she said is mean. I responded with, “I guess it depends whether or not you’re willing to let that stop you.” She is not writing as much as before.

I’ve read a lot of ‘rules of writing’, and had to let them go. The rules caused me to second guess my writing. Do you know the secret of being a writer?

You have to WRITE! It’s that simple.

I’ve taken many a break from posting Blogs. I even thought at one time of giving up writing. It was probably one of the saddest moments of my life, but that is what happens when your break is too long.

It feels easier to quit than to start writing again.

It doesn’t matter how many times we begin again, as long as we don’t quit altogether. I publish more now than I have in a long time, and you know what changed? I did. I stopped analyzing and I just write.

I stopped watching the stats. I stopped caring what everyone thinks. I stopped feeling like a spammer for publishing two posts in one day.

I decided to write for the pure joy of writing, still holding hope that someone would grasp something from it. When I felt an urge to write, (like now), to just let it flow, and stop letting things stand in the way. It has become a priority for me because Lord knows the only way to get better at it is by doing!

One of my all time favorite quotes.

Who says you have to have a researched topic?

Some of my favorite Blog posts are written by people struggling to write! They usually have some sort of breakthrough by the end of the post, and feel better. If nothing else, they get kudos for writing!

I begin each day inside my Reader over coffee.

Out of all the Blogs I follow, there may be half a dozen new posts each morning. If I follow you, I want to hear every word you’re thinking.

You don’t need permission to fill up my Reader.

I have plenty of coffee, and I enjoy spending my morning with you. Let me encourage you to forget what everyone else is saying, thinking or doing and just write. And then hit publish. I’ll bring the coffee.

Learning with WordPress

I knew nothing about Blogging when I began, but here are some things I learned with WordPress.

What should be the name of your Blog?

When I opened a Medium account in August, it automatically connected to my gmail account, so it used my real name. Use your real name if you can.

When starting this Blog, I used Letitgocoach, because I thought it would reflect that stage of my life. Six years of Social Media later, I’m known as Letitgocoach, so will probably use that pen name in writing a book. We will see if Google can let it go.

Don’t delete pictures from your media library.

This one still causes me to sigh. Whatever you delete in your media library, disappears from the Blog you used it in. I have a years worth of Blogs with this weird little broken link icon instead of a picture.

When inserting a photo, or meme, leave off any alignment. Click the + button on your toolbar, choose ‘media’, and then ‘add new’, to upload your photo. Once inserted, you can click on the photo to see options. This is where you choose, ‘no alignment’, and type in a caption, or photo credit.

Make your Blog easy to read.

I love reading, and following new Bloggers. While in my Reader, I click on the ‘Search’ option, and it pulls up a lot of newbies. There is no easy way to say this but, break up the page. It’s easier on the eyes, and more enjoyable if it’s not a 1,000 word paragraph.

Before clicking publish, I click ‘Preview’. This allows me to see what the post will look like on a Desktop, Tablet, or Phone to ensure it’s easy to read.

The Pingback. How to tag another Blogger, or insert a link in your post.

While reading a Blog post, and you see an underlined, or highlight word, it may contain a link. I will say ‘hello’ to my friend Kat. If you click on her name Kat, it will take you to her Blog.

You can place a link under any word in your post.

Highlight the word, and click the piece of chain link looking thing on your toolbar. In a new browser window, go find the Blogger’s site you want to tag. Copy their link, or any web address you want to use, and go back to your post. Paste the link in the URL window.

You should see your highlighted word in the box below. If not, you can type in your ‘link text.’ If you are referring to a previous post, you can choose it from the list. I click the box ‘”Open link in new window’, so it does. Click ‘add link’ and you’re done.

If you’ve been nominated for an award, and noticed all of the nominees highlighted, or underlined, this is how they did it. You will want to reciprocate.

This is some of what I’ve learned Inbarbsworld. If you want to learn everything there is to know about Blogging, I recommend Renard, in Renard’s World.

Hope and Love

It was 5 am when I heard a distinctive sound. Numi was about to throw up in my room. I scooted her outside, thanked God for waking me up, and protecting my row of shoes.

My phone was blinking, letting me know I had mail. It was a comment on my Blog, and it touched my heart so deeply, I’m shaking as I type this. God was at work early this morning.

A woman found my Blog during the night, and read Blog after Blog, after Blog.

She left a comment, but then had a change of heart and asked me to delete it. I will do as she asks, but her comment will be forever imprinted on my soul. I needed to hear her words.

God works through people. They tell us what we need to hear. That is my hope while I write. That God will work through me, and you will read something you need to hear.

This woman validated what I have been doing the past three years. I’ve posted so many Memes on social media, I told my daughter yesterday, “My life is a Meme.” She laughed and disagreed, but from all those Memes, I could run some of my favorite ones through my mind at any time. I am mindful when talking with friends, or I’ll give them a quote from a Meme.

You can laugh along with me here, but it’s true. So, what God has called us to do, which is encouraging others, is a gift. People are reading our words, seeing our Memes, and it helps keep them going. What I want this woman to know is, the comment she left this morning will help keep me going.

When you leave a comment, your words fill me with hope and love.

Taking A Break

I added something delightful to my mornings. After my quiet time, I curl up with my laptop, coffee in hand, and pull up my WordPress Reader. I love reading other writer’s work, and this has connected me with some Beautiful Souls. This community is a place of beauty.

I mowed my yard yesterday. That may not sound like much, or it may sound awful, but for me it was exhilarating. When it’s not 100 degrees outside, I enjoy walking behind a push mower. The last time I tried to mow was during Chemo. It didn’t end well because I almost passed out. It was one of the things I had to let go of, and let someone else step in and help.

Letting someone step in and help is a beautiful thing. I am taking a break from Social Media, but I have someone who will fill in during my absence. You will meet her soon, because she writes too. We give little pieces of ourselves throughout the day, especially doing what we love. I am reacquainting myself with the pieces of my life. To loosen my grip and see what stays.

I took a break from writing this to do a couple of things. I wanted to get to the post office before noon, to pay for my box rental. I thought they took their lunch at noon, but I soon found out, it’s 11:30. My order from Bath and Body Works had arrived, and that was sweet.

Lotion and lip gloss are my have to haves. All the lotions smell good, but I bought this one just for the name. On those day where I need a gentle reminder, I can look at this bottle.

There was a lady standing in the Post Office going through a stack of junk mail, and we said, ‘Hello’. As I was walking out the door, she followed and said, “I want to invite you to something.”I stopped and looked at her inquisitively. Come to find out she is a martial arts instructor, and hosts self-defense classes for women, here in our little town. I am so excited!

My daughter has been wanting to take self-defense. I have been wanting some exercise other than mowing. This would be perfect! We exchanged information, and I am looking forward to the class this week. If I wouldn’t have taken a break when I did, I would have missed meeting her. God had our paths cross at His perfect timing. All I had to do was take a break.

I came home and put a chicken in the Crock Pot for dinner. Another thing of beauty.

We will throw what’s leftover back into the Crock Pot, add water, and let it cook all night. In the morning I will have chicken stock. https://www.100daysofrealfood.com/recipe-the-best-whole-chicken-in-a-crock-pot

Taking a break can be as simple as sitting down on Numi’s level to receive dog kisses. That is one thing I won’t take a break from. To love and be loved.
